The Iron Sea - Keane - Under The Iron Sea (CD, Album)
Hello everyone, we just wanted to let you know that our new album is called "under the iron sea" and will be out on June 12th. Tom Tim Rich. The latter two songs made their first appearance on Strangersstill in demo versions, while the first only appeared until the album's release.
Notable changes from the previous releases by Keane during the Hopes and Fears era are the typeface and style of the cover art. Sanna Annukka, an artist from Brightondesigned the cover art for the album and its singles.
The typeface changed from the "Cochin" typeface used on the and releases. The newer font was specially designed for Keane but no specific name for the font was given apart from the "UTIS" fan-name. The first pre-release before the album was "Atlantic", which was issued as a download-only music video single on 25 April, featuring a specially extended version of the song incorporating the outro from album track "The Iron Sea".
Irvine Welshauthor of the novel Trainspottingdirected the video, which was filmed in black and white on a remote Sussex beach, and did not feature the band. Its video was directed by Kevin Godleybest known for his work on music videos for The Police and Duran Duran in the mids. The record was released 12 June internationally.
A US edition of the album eventually leaked in its entirety to file-sharing networks on 5 Juneand the Mexican edition Album) released early on 9 June. There was also a bonus DVD with a book-shaped cover representing a fairy-tale story, with drawings on the inner pages.
Under the Iron Sea received generally favourable reviews from critics. Inserting the CD whilst on the band's website at the Wayback Machine archived 12 June allows you to unlock exclusive content including:.
The song was released as the fourth single from the album. It was previously called "Nothing in Your Way". The song is considered a fan favourite and it is the Keane song with the third highest tempo to date bpmnext to "You Haven't Told Me Anything" bpm Album) the band's next album Perfect Symmetry and "On the Road" bpm from their fourth album, Strangeland. The song is about Rice-Oxley's troubles with Tom Chaplin and how he feels. The song was premiered on 20 October as a demo.
It was great to have their input. And I can confirm they are very lovely chaps! And if so, how? SA: It was entirely about the lyrics. They formed the artwork- the world that you see under the waves of the Iron Sea in the album fold out. It was like illustrating a melancholic but beautiful fairy tale. Agil Husain Abdullah: What do you think about the album itself? Do you have a favourite song? SA: I love it. Which helped when illustrating it!
I did have to have a break from listening to the album for awhile as it was on a constant loop when I was creating the artwork. A Bad Dream is my favourite song from the album. Songs such as A Bad Dream became the source for much of the promotional material and merchandising opportunities for the album such as the pin badge above.
Of course, this was partly the case because of its release as a single, but without question, the depth with which Sanna went into the world of UTIS and the multitude of illustrations that resurfaced, there was an endless supply of such possibilities, which has never been matched in any other Keane release. Great article!!! Thanks for celebrating this important artwork.
It truly deserves it. Greetings from Chile! Like Liked by 1 person. Great article by the way. Critics deemed them as likeable and as accessible as Coldplaybut Keane 's return isn't as buoyant as their initial introduction, even if it keeps melody at the forefront. Whereas Hopes and Fears faced uncertainty head on with joyous enthusiasm, Under the Iron Sea is a darker, less romantic set of songs affected by a disenchanted outlook on life and the world's problems.
Keane 's members feels the frustration of a world torn apart by war, but they also express their own growing pains as a group. Songs such as the grayish ebb and flow of "A Bad Dream" and "Crystal Ball" connect with those reflections. Frontman Tom Chaplin faces the disappointment of growing older on the haunting "Atlantic," another stone-cold gem of synthesizer strings and Tim Rice-Oxley 's gorgeous piano delivery.
Just when you think it might be totally depressing, though, Album) are some hints of life hidden in the corners of Under the Iron Seaand these mysterious loops The Iron Sea - Keane - Under The Iron Sea (CD Keane 's new Album) experiments. Thus far they've existed without guitars -- and although the bounty of this record breathes with a collection of various analog synths and an old electric piano, Rice-Oxley 's performance is now enhanced with a bevy of guitar effect pedals.
Debut single "It Is Any Wonder? GB SE XE US XE My one big complaint here is that as the album progresses from this point, the songs seem to drag longer and take on a slow march quality instead of the Keane that has frequented the first few tracks.
I think that in the end, this album accomplishes two things. This shows a versatility and ability to write meaningful songs that get lost in our musical tastes today. Your email address will not be published.
